A Minecraft Movie Squared
シリアル-VMojang announced the production of a sequel to A Minecraft Movie, named A Minecraft Movie Squared along with a community event related to the movie.
During Minecraft LIVE - May 2026, Mojang announced the sequel to A Minecraft Movie, A Minecraft Movie Squared, along with a new community building event related to the movie.
A Minecraft Movie Squared
In the video, we see some of the main characters of the original movie return. Such as Jack Black as Steve, Jason Momoa as Gerrett, and Danielle Brooks as Dawn. We speculate the return of these characters implies the sequel will follow the same characters and storyline as the original.
Two new characters are introduced in the video:
- Matt Berry, who played the Nitwit Villager in the original, as an unknown character.
- Kirsten Dunst as Alex
It is also shared in the video that the movie will once again be filmed in New Zealand.
Community Event: Minecraft Movie Build Challenge
The event is a build competition held on a custom map in the Minecraft Bedrock Marketplace, where players can create a build following the challenge guidelines and submit it to Mojang. Once submitted, the build will be reviewed by Mojang and put up to community vote.
Winning builds will be placed in the movie or its credits.
Submissions must be made between May 30 and June 8.
New Cape
There is also a new cape up for grabs, the Builder Cape! You can unlock a code to redeem the cape on Minecraft Bedrock by watching an applicable Twitch Partner stream for 5 consecutive minutes or an applicable TikTok stream for 3 consecutive minutes between May 30 and June 14.
