Privacy Policy
This policy describes the information MCBE News processes to operate its public archive, staff tools, source syncs, and contact channels.
Last updated September 19, 2026
Scope
MCBE News is a public Minecraft news, changelog, Marketplace, article, and service-status archive. This policy applies to the website, public APIs, staff sign-in, source archives, and the contact links on this site.
Reading public pages does not require a public MCBE News account. Staff access is separate and uses Discord sign-in; it is not a public profile or community-account system.
Information Processed When You Visit
Hosting, security, and application operations can process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested URLs, timestamps, response status, and error diagnostics. This information is used to deliver the site, troubleshoot faults, defend against abuse, and monitor service reliability.
MCBE News also loads Google Analytics on public pages to understand aggregate traffic and how pages are used. Google may process cookie, device, and usage information under its own policies. See Google's Privacy Policy for details about its processing.
Staff Sign-In and Sessions
Staff members sign in with Discord through Better Auth. To provide that access and apply staff roles, MCBE News processes the Discord account identifier, display name, email address when Discord provides it, avatar URL, authentication-account information, and session records.
Session records can include session identifiers, expiration information, IP address, and user-agent data. They are used to authenticate staff, secure administrative actions, and investigate access problems. Staff roles control access to editorial, moderation, and administration features.
Contact Channels
The Contact page links to email and Discord; it does not currently provide an on-site submission form. Email and Discord process the information you choose to send under their own policies. MCBE News may keep correspondence and the minimum related context needed to respond, review a publication request, prevent abuse, or maintain an editorial record.
Do not send passwords, payment information, private credentials, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Published and Archived Source Material
MCBE News stores editorial articles, changelog records, official Minecraft articles, Marketplace records, creator names supplied by Marketplace sources, service-status samples, and the metadata needed to search, link, and display those records.
Source archives can include titles, URLs, excerpts, publication dates, authors or creators as supplied by the source, tags, images, and sync diagnostics. Imported images may be copied to MCBE News' CDN storage so pages do not depend on an upstream image host. This material is used for public reference, attribution, search, feeds, API output, and archive integrity.
Service Providers and External Links
MCBE News relies on service providers for hosting, CDN image storage, database operations, analytics, and Discord authentication. It also retrieves and archives public material from Minecraft, Mojang, Microsoft, and Marketplace-related services.
When you follow an external link or choose to use Discord or email, that destination operates under its own terms and privacy policy. MCBE News does not control data collected by external sites.
Retention and Security
MCBE News keeps information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including site operation, security, archive integrity, staff access, legal obligations, and editorial accountability. Retention can vary by record type; public archive records may remain available for historical reference.
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect the systems that hold this information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Questions
You can manage cookies through your browser and use Google's controls for Google Analytics where available. Staff members can contact the team about their account information or access.
For privacy questions or requests relating to information you provided directly, use the Contact page. MCBE News may update this policy when its systems or practices change; the date above identifies the latest revision.
