Bedrock Realms Player Cap Temporarily Increased (Core + Plus)

An issue with Realms Owners unable to join their Realm, if it was already full was discovered. As a temporary solution, the Player Cap was increased.

A Minecraft Realms Developer Account (u/RealmsServiceDev) has published an update regarding an issue introduced with Bedrock v26.10: some players on Core (You+2) and Plus (You+10) subscriptions were unable to join their Realm if it was already at capacity - including the Realm Owner, which was unintended.

What Changed (Temporary Cap Increase)

To reduce disruption while a hotfix is tested, Mojang has temporarily increased the maximum player caps:

  • Core (You + 2)
    • Normal: 3 Total (Owner + 2)
    • Temporary: 4 Total
  • Plus (You + 10)
    • Normal: 11 Total (Owner + 10)
    • Temporary: 12 Total

When Does It Apply?

  • This takes effect the next time your Realm server restarts.
  • Once the hotfix is fully rolled out, Mojang states the caps will return to their normal limits.

Expected Fix Window

  • Mojang has indicated the fix is currently being tested and is expected to roll out early next week.
    • No exact deployment time has been confirmed.

What This Means For Players

If you were blocked from joining because the Realm was "full":

  • You may be able to join again once the Realm restarts and the temporary cap applies.
  • The key issue Mojang called out is that Realm Owners should always be able to join, regardless of who is currently playing.

Minecraft News will monitor for further updates from Mojang.
