The well-known Minecraft Bedrock server Build a Realm (BAR) has entered a new chapter. After years of leadership under Nebby, ownership has officially transitioned to Sammy, marking a major change for one of the most recognizable names in the Bedrock community.
While MCBE News will not comment on how this transition may impact BAR's future, we reached out to key members of the community for their perspectives.
Former owner Nebby confirmed that although he is stepping back from daily operations, he will remain as an advisor during the transition.
"Somewhat, yes," Nebby said when asked if he would remain involved. "I'll still stay on as an advisor, mainly to oversee major changes or big conflicts."
Nebby expressed confidence in the new leadership and optimism for the community's future.
"As of now, I think it's great ownership. Sammy's made some really good choices."
When reflecting on his time as owner, Nebby shared one of his favorite memories:
"My favorite community moment was when almost everyone was copy-pasting the same message in a thread for months. There are plenty of great memories, but that one stands out."
New owner Sammy outlined his priorities for BAR: strengthening ties with the wider community and hosting regular events to re-energize the player base.
"Moving forward, I want to build strong ties with not only Realm Hub but many other great servers alike," Sammy stated. "We've already reached out to ARAS, and I believe we can build a partnership based on protecting realms."
Sammy also emphasized community engagement as a key focus.
"We'll be hosting monthly community events to bring everyone together and encourage growth. I already have a list of ideas, but I'll keep those surprises for later."
When asked about BAR's long-term goals, Sammy expressed confidence in the new management team.
"I believe Build a Realm can be a very successful server. We've already seen an increase in activity, and I'm confident that growth will continue."
He added that BAR plans to expand its library of free addons and development tools to help creators thrive within the community.
We spoke to Seif, a staff member, and he described the change as a positive step forward.
"I predict that BAR will finally come out of its stagnant state. Sammy has the competence to make that happen, though I hope standards remain high."
