Community Spotlight: The Wild Update
Published: June 7, 2022 - View official source
The Wild Update is upon us, and no one knows how to celebrate quite like the Minecraft Community. That’s why we turned to a handful of content creators to find out how they're getting ready for the biggest update of the year.
Here’s what they said!
WildWestDan: For almost a year now, I've been working on a truly mega, mega-build recreating Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Minecraft. If I manage to build the whole thing, it will be almost 2000 x 2000 blocks (which is just under 4 MILLION blocks square) in total. The goal is to build it as accurately as possible with no custom blocks, textures or models; just what is available in vanilla Minecraft – which is already a lot!
One thing that bothered me is that I couldn't find the right brick to match the interior hallway of Cinderella Castle, one of the most iconic parts of the entire build. When I saw mud bricks shown in Minecraft Live 2021 I immediately knew that it would be perfect for that hallway, and I can't wait to replace it and make the build more accurate! It will be useful in so many more places throughout the build as well! I'm going to have one of the biggest mud brick assembly line farms you've ever seen!
F1RECRACKER: Are you as obsessed by the new frogs in Minecraft as I am? They are so adorable that I was inspired to build them all! I just couldn't stop there, I added a couple of my favorites: the red eyed tree frog and the blue dart frog as well as two varieties of tadpoles. I have left a couple of lily pads open so that my friends and I can build more together. I can't wait to see what everyone else is doing to celebrate the Wild Update!
Logic Pro X Gaming: Hi everyone, I’m Logic, a blind gamer and content creator on YouTube. I’ve always been for representation of blind players in games, so when I found out Mojang was adding a blind mob to the game, I began to follow the development closely. Now that we know about the warden and its abilities, I’ve been chomping at the bit to see if the skills I’ve adapted to navigate the game world can compete with the warden. I hope to make my way down to the deep dark and face the warden, Minecraft’s very first blind mob, head-to-head. Who will come out on top—a blind player or a blind mob?
GamefruitPulp: While the upcoming survival changes in the 1.19 update are exciting, the addition of many new blocks also gives us city-builders much to be excited about! Here are the top 5 ways you can use the 1.19 blocks to improve your Minecraft City.
Ktmh96: I am so excited about the mud bricks in this update, I think they work perfectly as a new type of flooring in house builds! The mangrove wood and planks really bring an interesting new color into the palette of options when building with wood. Using mangrove planks is such an easier way of adding a pop of color into a build without having to travel to the nether for crimson or warped wood! The different versions are froglights are so fun to use as lighting either indoors or outdoors! I used mine to make a cute lantern outside my house. Who needs torches when you have froglights!
WildGoat: I just posted our latest exploration of the mangrove swamps on our channel and it is all about frogs. I am SO INCREDIBLY happy to find out that they can co-habitate with the axolotls! They are extremely adorable and have amazing functionality with them that I did not expect. It's impressive that they can be used with slime farming! I love that they are so protective against magma cubes! I cannot wait to get a hold of their froglights to use with the builds. Their froglight soft glow is going to be such a fun addition to building and lighting on Minecraft. I need all the frogs!
The allay has left me a bit nervous for the changes that will need to be made to our public Minecraft server. I am still worried that it might steal things from other players or get stolen itself. But the allay has won my heart!! They are a beautiful shade of glowing blue! I cannot get enough of their fun little tunes! They make going about your work of sorting and gathering supplies a joy with the little melodies they create. I cannot wait to find as many as I can and keep them all happy with note blocks and collecting. I think the first one I get is going to be called Fetch!
Are you totally pumped for the Wild Update? What features are you most excited about? And most importantly, what will you name your first allay?
