IRL Crafting: Hamborghini, The Rideable Pig

I think pigs have a really tough time in Minecraft. Think about it: Sheep give you wool, chickens give you eggs, cows give you milk, axolotls give you joy... But pigs? Pigs give you two things – more pigs, and, well, pork. There's no easy way around it. More often than not, pigs exist to become the pork chops you eat after understimating a baby zombie. Poor things.

But did you know that you can also saddle up a pig and ride it like a horse? In fact, it's even faster than some horses. You probably did know that, but it took me ages to find it out, because you also need a carrot on a stick to drive it around, otherwise you're just... sitting on a pig.

Amateur engineer and craftsman Electo has built his entire YouTube channel around making real-life versions of video game characters that you can actually drive around, and that includes a working, rideable pig with a functional carrot-tracking device. Why? Well, we say why not.

You know sometimes how DIY projects say things like, "don't try this at home"? Well, this one is definitely one of those. But also, you probably can't try this at home, because Electo uses 3D printers, homemade batteries, computer chips, skateboard parts, and multiple dismantled drills. Who knew that a pig had all those things inside of it? But it worked out, because this little piggy can go up to 20 MPH, and it definitely doesn't have airbags.

And on the topic of pigs, did you know that the creeper was originally supposed to be a pig, but it went very wrong? Yes, okay, you probably knew that as well, but it's also a great segue into another one of Electo's builds: A "real-life working creeper"! Wait, what do you mean working...?

Yup, this creeper actually explodes. It's really one of those one-time-use sort of things, but it's very cool to see, especially because Electo added flour inside the creeper to make it look like more of an explosion.

I look forward to the day when Electo invents teleportation just to make a working Enderman.
