January 2024 saw the likely cancellation of the Vendetta auto-moderation bot after claims it copied Cosmos, along with wider controversy caused by TheMisterEpic’s pay-to-win stance and his earlier criticism of the MCBE Realms community. The month also brought the launch of Bridgify, a fast-growing bot aimed at improving server partnerships and advertising, while MCBE Realm Hub expanded to include Java servers and quickly passed 2,000 members, even as MCBE News continued to struggle with inactivi
Early January: A new MCBE Auto-Mod bot was revealed (Vendetta), but this project has now most likely been cancelled at the developers' discretion. Rumours were spreading that Vendetta seemed to be a replica of Cosmos, and these were confirmed to be true by the ex-owner of Cosmos, A1terSaber.
Mid-January: The Java Edition YouTuber TheMisterEpic posted an over 30-minute-long video detailing the struggles of non-pay-to-win Minecraft Server owners and also admitting to making his own server (OG-Network) pay-to-win (despite avidly standing against pay-to-win practices until this point and enthusiastically hacking - on video - on every pay-to-win Server he found). A lot of controversy surrounded his decision to go pro-pay-to-win, but his friends still seem to support him. As a result of TheMisterEpic's video, another notable YouTuber, DuperTrooper, announced that he will advertise one non-pay-to-win Server at some point in every single one of his videos.
TheMisterEpic has previously caused controversy in the Community with his video about MCBE Realms, which glorified hackers and crashers as heroes and generalized every Realm as a greedily-run, pay-to-win scam.
In other news, a bot called Bridgify released in MCBE. This bot is specifically made to help Minecraft Servers better connect with each other and make advertising and partnerships much easier. Created by SteveJobs (steveiejobs), the bot has seen tremendous growth, reaching 130 Support Server members and 61 Servers!
Late January: MCBE Realm Hub, formerly The Official Realm Hub, became Java-inclusive: it now supports and advertises Java-edition Servers as well. To be clear, its support for Bedrock Edition Realms and Servers "is still staying" (as they announced in a statement), but it will now aim to expand even further.
Four days after the transformation, Minecraft Realm Hub (its new name) reached 2,000 members - the latest sign of its continued ability to thrive even after I3 (under whom the Server grew exponentially and to new heights) returned ownership to Frazer.
While this has been addressed before, we'd like to apologize again for the recent inactivity. With Gur gone right now, the articles aren't being written as often. Hopefully he returns soon!
