Minecraft is Coming to the Switch 2
ππ»πΈπ°πΎπΌMojang announced that Minecraft will be coming to the Switch 2 on October 27.
On June 9, 2026 Mojang posted an article on minecraft.net announcing the release of Minecraft Bedrock Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27.
In the article, Mojang states that Vibrant Visuals (Bedrock Editions built-in shaders) will be available on the Switch 2 version of the game, utilizing it's improved performance over the Switch 1.
Mojang also states that Switch 1 users will be able to transfer their data to the Switch 2 version of the game through a digital upgrade path.
On August 27, Mojang made a post to the Minecraft Discord server looking for beta testers for the Switch 2 version of the game.

Releasing alongside the Switch 2 version of the game, an updated Super Mario Mash-Up pack will be available only to Nintendo versions of the game, likely featuring a texture pack, skin pack, and world download.
