Minecraft News is aware of credible community reports that the Minecraft Legacy Console Edition codebase has been leaked and is now circulating online through multiple legacy-focused spaces (forums, group chats, and repost threads). While we are not sharing sources, mirrors, or access details, the consistency of independent reporting indicates this leak is real and actively spreading on forums.
The Legacy Console Edition refers to the discontinued console-era branch of Minecraft originally developed and maintained for consoles by 4J Studios (alongside Mojang's core development). 4J's work covered releases across major console ecosystems over the years.
Legacy Edition was playable across platforms including:
- Xbox 360 / Xbox One
- PlayStation 3 / PlayStation 4 / PS Vita
- Wii U
- Nintendo Switch Edition (Legacy Branch)
