Mounts of Mayhem: Dungeon Descent add-on

Published: January 12, 2026 - View official source

If even after the launch of our Mounts of Mayhem drop, you’re craving more mayhem – then I’ve got splendid news for you!

Introducing the free Dungeon Descent add-on by 57Digital, where you’ll be able to style your saddles and hone your spear-wielding skills, so you grow even more lethal.

Unleash the mayhem!

Ride in style

Feeling like your saddle lacks a certain “pizzazz”? Perhaps you yearn for something that’ll make heads turn? In that case, it’s time to go bananas with saddle charms!

Saddle charms are ways to personalize your favorite mount even more – and you can earn them by risking your life (don’t worry, I’ll explain all about it later). Saddle charms make your mount emit a particle trail as you ride by, and you can attach them to your saddle. There is a grand total of 15 charms, such as Rainbow, Snow, Water, Fireworks, just to name a few, each equally impressive.

If you complete the harrowing, nightmare-like ordeal required to earn charms (why are you so jumpy, relax I’ll tell you more further down), then all you have to do is employ a saddle table, combine a vanilla saddle with a saddle charm, and you’re all done!

Tallyho!

A Stable Home

As the pun-y headline suggests, this is all about creating a safe, cozy, home for all your mounts – a stable. With over 450 new custom blocks, you’ll be able to build exactly the type of stable you feel is worthy of your regal, humble, and trustworthy mounts. Each of the blocks is available as every type of wood, plus a special... *ehuw*, rotten variant for those who lean a bit more towards “zombie” as a home decor choice.

Flex your spear skills

Hopefully, the spear has already bumped down pickaxe from the number one spot as “favorite tool” – I know it has for me. But as my father always said to me “You can always do better”, I’m extra excited for the spear training dummies!

These unbeknownst targets come in four variations – Skeleton, Drowned, Zombie, and Husk – and are superb punching bags that will “help out” with your training. Basically, you can dole out a grand chunk of stabbing, and they’ll never complain. The only result coming is that your spear-wielding skills will blossom!

The Spear Trials

Once you’ve pummeled the dummies into oblivion, it’s time to see if practice makes perfect... for real. Glad you asked, well yes, there is a great place to test your skills: The Spear Trials – where the real challenge awaits!

This randomly generated dungeon is not an easy feat, especially if you haven't honed your spear skills. You’ll have to lunge, jab, and stab to complete each room, hopefully also finding a vase or two containing some saddle charms (see, I told you I’d get back to saddle charm thing).

And don’t even think about mining your way out of the dungeons; it won’t be easy.

So, mentally prepare thyself, grab your trusty spear, and enter The Spear Trials!
