What We Know
In the Bedrock Preview 26.60.29 game files, a set of strings pertaining to a new block and its UI interactions were discovered. This new block, referred to as the "Disc Press" in the files, is not obtainable in-game and does not have a texture.
The only thing confirmed at this time is the existence of the following strings in the game files:
14DiscPressBlock
21CraftHandlerDiscPress
30DiscPressContainerManagerModel
31DiscPressDyeContainerValidation
32DiscPressDiscContainerValidation
33ClientboundPlayAudioContentPacket
33DiscPressBlockContainerValidation
33DiscPressContainerScreenValidator
36ItemStackRequestActionCraftDiscPress

Function
Due to the sparse amount of information available at this time, the the block's function is still a mystery. Despite this, the community has used the string names to come up with some possibilities of what the block could do:
- Crafts discs, providing another way to obtain the existing discs in-game, besides exploring structures or killing a Creeper with a Skeleton.
- Crafts unique discs, allowing players to record in-game sounds and store them on a playable disc.
- Clone discs, allowing players to create copies of discs they already have.
Many users also theorize that the Disc Press is related in some way to the opening of the Sift dimension portal because of the dimension's connection to sound, via the Singer (a mob introduced to the Sift dimension in Minecraft Dungeons II) and the Warden, which primarily navigates using sound.
MCBE News will continue to monitor and update as more information becomes available.
