New on Java Realms: A Java Realms Day Miracle

Wintertime is here and we’re closing in on the end of the year! But before that, we need to celebrate the highlight we’ve all been waiting for these past 12 months – Java Realms Day!  

Kids of all ages celebrate this festive occasion with the latest release of maps, transported from the mapmakers’ workshop located in the North Pole (for tax evasion reasons), facilitated by the Java Realms Supplier-And-Navigator-To-All (S.A.N.T.A. for short). S.A.N.T.A. will then figure out who’s been naughty and nice, put it on a list, and promptly toss that list into an incinerator, cause with some of these maps in today’s release, a humanitarian attitude will not be beneficial if you want to win!

FROZEN CRAG

Frozen Crag takes two Java Realms Day essentials and fuses them into one: gathering all your friends for a seasonal slugfest and avoiding succumbing to hyperthermia. 'Tis is the season for freezing after all! Divide the family up into two, then hit your opponents to fit them snugly into a cozy ice cube outfit. Utilize the same power of punching your teammates and you’ll free them from their icy fate! While you’re at it, you might as well capture some points and check out the bevy of cool powerups, like the decoy snowman that’ll stand in for you to finish writing your articles so you can play more maps capture the points for you!

GIFT EXCHANGE

Gift exchange is a mandatory tradition of Java Realms Day, where you punch (this is a recurring theme) your friends in order to trade gifts that are hovering above your heads. Once you’re done pummeling and/or the timer runs out, everyone gets to see what’s inside – a cookie will be a sign of victory, whereas coal will promptly get you kicked out of the proceedings. Now, I know what you’re thinking here: coal gives you fuel to smelt ores, can be crafted into torches even fire charges – a cookie only restores a measly 2 hunger and 0.4 hunger saturation! If this seems like a gross miscalculation of the relative worth of Minecraft items, feel free to declare yourself a winner anyways!

PRESENT PARKOUR

Follow me for this one: parkour and hot sauce – not all that alike at first glance! But look closer! Both are a condiment you can apply universally to any dish, situation, or holiday tradition to give it some extra spice, so why not add that fun, jumpy element to the gift-giving proceedings from before? Actually, instead of giving gifts, why don’t we take them by force, instead of multiple gifts, let’s just have one that you’ll have to fight tooth and nail in order to keep away from those grubby, selfish shysters you call friends?
