New on Java Realms: Advancements in Science
Published: August 26, 2022 - View official source
What would we do without science? Studies show: studies are awesome! Sir Isaac Newton gave us the theory of gravity, and without it, we would all be floating in mid-air, for one. In 1905, Einstein proclaimed that E=MC2, which of course refers to the theoretical existence of a MineCraft 2, but never told us what E was (it would be a bit too arrogant on his part to assume it’s his name).
I also have something I’m working on, “A Theory on the Opening Segment of Articles and the Correlating Perchance for Lying” - still awaiting peer review. With this month's release, our Realms mapmakers will unveil the secrets of tomorrow today, with a gaggle of maps that will push the scientifical envelope past what any metaphorical post office can handle!
ASEPTIC
by FingerMaps & Godlander
Have you ever had a day where everything is gray no matter where you go? Things that appear real turn out to be nothing more than an illusion? Well, this could be entirely dependent on the on/off state of your Temporal Resonator! This nifty gadget will be your tool, pal, and confidant in Aseptic, a mysterious puzzle map where you follow in the footsteps of a previous sojourner of this monochromatic, barren world. Anytime you see some dust particles, just materialize a door, platform, bridge, staircase, or whatever the situation calls for with your trusty Resonator. Also coming soon to your local electronics outlet, surely!
THE HIDDEN LAB
by GoodGuyChar & Archified
The mapmaker and proprietor of the titular lab, GoodGuyChar, has one of the most apt nicknames in recent memory – anyone who would leave you with the keys to their secretive research facility while they go on interdimensional adventures exhibits telltale signs of great character. ‘Lest you think this is some ramshackle two-bit operation Char has left you with, allow me to give you a sneak peek of the sights. There’s a server room, an underwater pet zoo, an eye scanner accessible Nether portal, and a mystery in the library. Everything is powered by thermal energy, naturally. Within the living quarters, there is also a study on the relaxing effects of heated water pools that I’m still conducting empirical research on!
THE MIND OF A DUCKLING’S UTOPIA!
by Sadical & Dxgital
Pet people: have you ever wondered what goes on within the head of your Fido/Polly/Mr. Meow-agi (you’re welcome for that one)? Your days of relying on commercials to tell you what treat your animal companion prefers are nearing its end, as our Realms scientists have developed the technology to venture into their minds and extract their deepest desires, under the prerequisite that your pet happens to be a duck! Yes, the title does not lie – you will find out what these ducks have on top of their Christmas wish list. Do they want to dress in dapper monocles and top hats? Do they want to rock pocket beak watches? Would they like to be adorned in castles and towers, from the back of their mantle to the top of their heads? This map has the answers. Next, let's find out the pet peeves of our plants!
