New on Java Realms: Mischiefs & Secrets

Published: August 28, 2026 - View official source

I spend most of my month trying to make sure Oskar doesn’t realize I’m still secretly taking over these articles, and every month he makes it surprisingly easy. This time I hid his glasses, and he’s currently giving a passionate speech about “innovative map design” to a mannequin wearing a creeper hoodie. I’d stop him... but honestly, I’m also quite curious about how long it’s going to take before he realizes.

But Oskar’s new best friend aside, this month’s maps are full of secrets, sparkles, and exploration. From daring missions inside high-security facilities to parkour challenges, and then to an adventure island filled with magic – there’s something for every type of explorer.

Welcome to Mischiefs, Secrets & Sparkling Adventures!

How do I play the new Java Realms maps?

Boot up Minecraft on your device of choice, then find Minecraft Realms in the starting menu. Press the “Configure” button, then choose the “Reset World” option on the Realm slot you’re ok with overwriting (or use the “Minigame” slot for minigames). Now you can pick the map you want to play from the corresponding categories!

ADVENTURE: SECRET RECIPE

by coffeecurley, Vakten & 7ks

Have you always dreamt of sneaking into a top‑secret facility and recovering a stolen recipe for the best cinnamon rolls you’ve ever tasted?

Well, in Secret Recipe you can do exactly that. Sneak through a high‑security complex, jump and duck under lasers, or distract guards with music you trigger using your trusty boomerang (that you just picked up).

Keep an eye on your surroundings and be ready for anything. You never know what’s waiting around the next corner – in this facility, surprises tend to come in cinnamon‑scented packages.

ADVENTURE: DIAMOND DASH

When you’re parkouring your way through this map, you’ll quickly notice the many different environments, the hard and tricky jumps you need to make, and... oooh, what is that?! Every corner feels like it’s daring you to keep going, every platform is placed just far enough away to make you question your confidence, and every jump has that classic “I swear I pressed space” moment.

But one thing you probably won’t notice right away is that you’re slowly climbing your way up a floating island shaped like a diamond.

As you make your way higher up, you’ll spot secrets tucked between jumps, hidden gems waiting behind tricky turns, and little surprises that reward players who explore instead of rushing. It’s a map that wants you to look twice – preferably not while mid air.

If you love the thrill of the jump and have an eye for secrets, Diamond Dash is definitely for you.

INSPIRATION: ISLAND OF ADVENTURES

by Kahterina, Zumvo, Iaan & rrumours

When you load up this map, you might think you’re about to explore a mansion, a cozy house, or something simple and familiar. But the moment you step out onto the balcony, everything changes. Suddenly you’re standing on a massive island, stretching out in every direction, practically begging you to explore every nook, cranny, and suspiciously placed mushroom.

Wander through the mushroom house, climb the wizard tower, or stop to greet one of the many animals chilling around like they own the place.

But be careful! The waters around the island aren’t as peaceful as they look. There’s a huge skeleton snake lurking out there – or wait… is that made out of…?
