Realm Nuking Service “Nether” Terminated

On September 23, Realm nuking service "Nether" and its bot were terminated by Discord for terms of service violations.

What Was Nether?

Nether, also known as NetherNet, was a Minecraft Realm nuking service that used Discord commands through a custom bot to crash Realms without the user being directly connected through Minecraft.

Note: The service's name overlaps with NetherNet, the real WebRTC-based protocol Mojang uses for Bedrock LAN discovery and peer-to-peer connections, including Realms. This article is about the nuking service, not Mojang's networking protocol.

Termination Overview

On September 23, 2026 at 9:30 PM (estimated time), the Nether Discord server and its primary bot, NetherNet, were both terminated; MCBE News recieved a statement from NovaGhoul, ARAS Movement Lead, stating the following:

"TSL submitted a detailed report which caused the termination. Him and Vision had some beef over some DMCA takedowns directed towards TSL for leaking Vision's vertex source code."

Context: TSL is a former nuke service developer who previously collaborated with Vision, a Nether developer, on a service called Vertex.

Nether was largely known as the most popular Realm nuking service on Discord up until yesterday when it was removed. While it is likely a new service will emerge to take its place, this is still a big win for Realm owners and the community as a whole.
