Our Marketplace Picks: August 2019
Published: September 13, 2019 - View official source
Each and every week, new maps, skins, and worlds are released onto the Minecraft Marketplace, made by the talented members of our amazing community. For August alone, a whole 283 new maps and skin packs were added. Now, that’s a lot of playable content, and no matter how much we Minecraft.net writers love a good sky block map or a pixel-perfect parkour challenge, we simply cannot play them all!
This is why, as many of you know, we have the content team! Each month, we let them select three must-have maps and/or skins, and ask them to explain why they’re the cream of the Marketplace crop. As we’ve now reached early September, it’s time to find out what scored big with Sara and Oskar in the month of August!
Dragon City
by Cyclone Designs
Ninjas! Robots! If those two words haven't already convinced you that this map is worth playing, we suggest you go hang with some pirates instead! Welcome to Dragon City, home to the Ninja Clan – an evil organisation that needs to be stopped (because bad guys are bad, and we assume you, reading this, are good – only good people read Minecraft.net, right?). To do this, you’ll have to go through a dense collection of levels, gathering ever-stronger weapons to use against these dark pyjamas-wearing criminals.
Sara tried to take down the Ninja Clan herself and underwent rigorous training to succeed.
I might have seen too many anti-robot movies, but I prefer we wait a few hundred years before we let the singularity occur. To learn more about Dragon City, visit the Marketplace page.
Trickster's Dreamland
by Everbloom Studios
Ever had a fever dream where you found yourself in an absurd situation or trying to solve an almost impossible task? Trickster’s Dreamland captures that feeling to perfection, forcing you to journey through 30 mischievous dreams, packed with both entertaining dialogue and fast-paced gameplay. It might be a single-player experience, but the Trickster keeps you company at all times!
So what does the content team think about weird dreams?
I never want to sleep again! Can you solve the tasks and defeat the Trickster? Learn more on the Marketplace page.
Jungle Explorer
by 4J Studios
Photographing animals and exploring old locations might sound like a relaxing weekend activity, but Jungle Explorer by 4J Studios is anything but. This trip is all about surviving an expedition to a forgotten jungle, full of fiendish traps just waiting to trigger due to carelessness or slight miscalculations.
Explore ancient tombs filled with secrets, observe dangerous animals such as jaguars and piranhas and document them with photos – and even participate in a climactic boss battle! Threats might lurk around every corner, but there’s never a dull moment in the jungle, and Sara is willing to agree.
Channel your inner Indiana Jones and check out Jungle Explorer on its Marketplace page today to learn more!
That’s a wrap for the top three picks for August. However, the Minecraft Marketplace has many more maps and skins just waiting to be discovered. Have a browse to find YOUR favourite!
