Our Marketplace Picks: October 2019

If you’re no stranger to Minecraft.net, you already know what this is all about. For all you first-time readers that just stumbled upon this very page – Welcome! Minecraft Marketplace is your spawn point for creative content, such as mash-up packs, mini-games, skins, and much more. As we tend to release more than 100 pieces of content every month, we like to have some lovely members from our beloved content team pick their three favourite maps from the past month. 

And since there’s still two whole days of November left, this article technically isn’t late. So let’s learn about what was good in October in nearly-December! Hush you! Everything is fine!

Tumbleweed

How long has it been since you last saw a classic western at the cinemas or your streaming service of choice? Too long, and Westworld, doesn’t count! While Mojang currently has no plans to direct their own western film, we recommend you check out the wildest frontier on this side of the Marketplace: Magefall’s ‘Tumbleweed’. It comes with custom blocks and critters, 20 different character skins, as well as six towns: Tumbleweed, Big River, Backwater, Timber Ridge, La Perla, and San Pablo – each with its own unique theme and set of activities.

While it’s strongly encouraged that you spend your time fighting your friends on either side of the law, Tumbleweed also has its share of mini-games, So not only can you shoot one or two arrows into your friend – you can challenge him or her to a horse race as well (“You can get your critical arrow wounds healed later, buddy! It’s racing time!”). YEE-HAW! Let’s see what the most rootin’ tootin’ member of the community team, Oskar Thysell, has to say.

A scary tale

Now that Halloween is over, you’d think you’d finally be safe from all the scary figures roaming around. Wishful thinking, my friend! Razzleberries’ ‘A scary tale’ is a hair-raising exploration adventure, filled with eerie atmosphere, tense ambient tracks, puzzles, and spookily scripted events. It’s a game that makes my already weak heart turn into a messy mush of emotions. A group of teenagers have gone missing, and it falls on you to find them. Your investigation brings you a mansion (what else?) that reeks of evil, and it is up to you to uncover the mystery. Since I’d only manage a few minutes seconds inside, I’m lucky to have the fearless Sara Lempiäinen give you her opinions of the adventure.

Safari World

Safari World takes you through an immersive zone of 35 rare species in their respective natural habitats. Not only is it a tourist magnet – it’s also a place where you can practice your photography and snap a picture of every animal you can find. Take a ride in the safari bus, or a buggy to traverse the zone, and don’t forget to stay on your toes! Curious cats like the panther, lynx, or the cheetah are hungry, and they might want to have a bite of a tasty player. Since Oskar got eaten straight after stepping out of the bus, Sara kindly jumped in to tell us what she thought of this map:
