Chaos Cubed is here

Published: June 16, 2026 - View official source

Can you hear that? It almost sounds like the distant rumble of chaos bouncing, sliding, and exploding its way into Minecraft?

That’s right, the Chaos Cubed game drop is out TODAY in Minecraft – bringing with it chaos in the form of sulfur cubes, a dizzying cave biome to explore, colorful blocks to build with, and more!

Chaos in cube form

The sulfur cube isn’t just a mob – it’s a source of endless experimentation and possibility!

That’s because the sulfur cube’s physical properties will change depending on what sort of block it has absorbed. Different blocks will change the sulfur cube’s speed, its bounciness, and its overall chaos levels, so there’s a perfect cube combo for every situation — and countless more waiting to be discovered. We’ll show you three to get started, but the rest are yours to uncover!

Is it a mob, or a weapon? Well, a bit like Minecraft’s iconic creeper – a sulfur cube that has absorbed TNT can be both! Like regular TNT you’ll still have to ignite it with a fire source, but unlike regular TNT the sulfur cube can still move with TNT absorbed! I wouldn’t call it a precision mob though, so exercise caution!

Chaos in caves

That’s not the only source of chaos coming in this drop either. Geysers can send players (and mobs) skywards on a plume of water – and while sulfur pools look relaxing, those bubbling waters will actually leave you with a spot of the Nausea effect thanks to the potent sulfur blocks.

Oh, and while you’re exploring the sulfur caves, watch out for sulfur spikes! These form on cave ceilings and floors like stalactites and stalagmites, and they can also fall randomly from the sky, and cause damage! Ooooh, chaotic.

Chaos with blocks

If you think you’ll escape the chaos by just focussing on the colorful blocks coming with this drop, then THINK AGAIN.

With vibrant red cinnabar and gloriously yellow sulfur blocks each coming with their own block set, you can indulge in a little creative chaos and paint your Overworld in new shades of red and yellow! Cobble them, craft with them, turn them into stairs or bricks – the choice is yours.
