Ender Update completed the journey to the End and marked Pocket Edition’s move out of Alpha. It arrived as Pocket Edition 1.0.0, on December 19, 2016.

World Generation

The End

The Ender Update completed the route through Stronghold portals to the End and the Ender Dragon. The main island provided a major Survival milestone, while the outer islands gave players places to explore after the fight.

End Cities and Ships

End Cities and End Ships introduced elevated structures, treasure, and the End’s distinctive building materials. Purpur Blocks, Chorus Plants, and End Rods broadened the palette available beyond the Overworld and Nether.

Mobs and Items

Elytra Elytra

Shulkers defended End Cities with Levitation-inducing projectiles.
Elytra from End Ships let players glide, making successful exploration a reward that changed future travel.
Chorus Fruit supplied an unusual food with teleportation behavior.
The Ender Dragon encounter linked the new dimension with the game’s ending.

Platform History

The release marked Pocket Edition’s move out of Alpha. 1.0.0 reached Pocket Edition and the related Windows 10, Gear VR, Apple TV, and Fire TV editions on December 19, 2016.

New Nintendo 3DS Edition received the Ender Update later as 1.7.10 on September 19–20, 2018. Its separate date reflects that edition’s own development schedule.
