Overworld Update
Overworld Update expanded Pocket Edition’s redstone tools and everyday survival options. It arrived as Pocket Edition v0.14.0 alpha, on February 18, 2016.
Redstone and Automation
Hopper
The Overworld Update brought Pocket Edition a larger redstone toolkit. Hoppers transferred items, Droppers and Dispensers controlled item output, and Comparators provided more sophisticated signal handling. Repeaters and other new components made circuits more flexible.
Slime Blocks added a distinctive construction material that would become especially useful when Pistons arrived in the following Friendly Update.
Items and Exploration
Maps let players record explored terrain. Item Frames gave them a place to display Maps and possessions, connecting navigation with decoration rather than leaving every collected item in a Chest.
Blocks and Mobs
Cauldrons added a utility block with Pocket Edition’s own water, dye, and potion interactions.
Witches introduced potion-based hostile encounters.- New decorative and utility blocks expanded ordinary building alongside the redstone components.
Platform History
The release also reached Windows 10 Edition Beta. It belongs to the Pocket Edition development line that later became Bedrock Edition, so its version is written as v0.14.0 alpha rather than a modern Bedrock release number.
The following Friendly Update continued this work with Pistons, Observers, more mounts, and expanded multiplayer.
