Bundles of Bravery
Bundles of Bravery made inventory space more flexible and brought Hardcore to Bedrock Edition. The game drop released on October 22, 2024 as Java Edition 1.21.2 and Bedrock Edition 1.21.40.
Items and Inventory
Bundles
Bundle
A Bundle turns scattered supplies into one manageable inventory slot. Craft one with one Leather and one String, then fill it with a mixture of items. Its capacity is equivalent to a full stack, with each item consuming the fraction of space it normally takes in a stack.
- Inspect the tooltip to see what is inside.
- Select the item to remove rather than always taking the most recently inserted item; mouse controls include scrolling through the contents.
- Dye Bundles in any of the 16 colors to distinguish tools, building supplies, and other collections.
- Bundles became a permanent feature after several years of experiments, completing a feature postponed from Caves & Cliffs.
Game Modes
Hardcore
Bedrock Edition gained Hardcore, and Java Edition Realms gained support for Hardcore worlds. The mode locks a Survival world to Hard difficulty and gives each player one life.
Death ends ordinary play in that world, but players can continue observing in Spectator mode. The Realms world-creation interface also supports the mode.
Mobs
Aquatic Variants
Java Edition received baby Dolphins, Squid, and Glow Squid, matching their Bedrock counterparts. Salmon also gained small and large sizes alongside the existing size.
Blocks and Visual Changes
- Java Edition refreshed Redstone Torch models and textures, along with the powered appearances of Repeaters and Comparators.
- Java Edition added Field Masoned and Bordure Indented Banner Pattern items. The Loom requires the corresponding pattern item for those designs.
- Banner Pattern items received individual textures and names that identify their design.
- Smithing Templates are named for their specific use, with “Smithing Template” moved to a tooltip subtitle.
