Wilderness Bound

Wilderness Bound brings autumn color and new reasons to explore the Overworld. Released on September 15, 2026, the game drop introduces the Dappled Forest, where red, orange, and yellow Poplar canopies rise above fallen logs and Shelf Mushrooms. Abandoned Camps and new Explorer Maps lead players farther afield, while Straw Beds and Cushions offer ways to rest along the journey.

Released as Java Edition 26.3 and Bedrock Edition 26.50, the drop also expands building options with Poplar Wood and stairs and slabs in every Concrete and Wool color. It was announced at Minecraft LIVE – May 2026, with its name revealed during MC Championship: Fall Stars. Features were available for experimental testing in Bedrock Edition 26.40 ahead of release.

Poplar Wood Set

  • Poplar Sapling Poplar Sapling
    • Grows into a Poplar Tree.
  • Red Poplar Leaves Poplar Leaves
    • Available in red, orange, and yellow.
    • Releases falling leaves that match its color, at the same frequency as Cherry and Pale Oak leaf particles.
    • Plays ambient sounds when connected to a log and surrounded horizontally by at least three matching leaf blocks.

  • A red bush found in Dappled Forests. Its color remains consistent across biomes.

Shelf Mushroom Big Shelf Mushroom Shelf Mushroom

  • Grows naturally on standing and fallen Poplar Trees.
  • Available in small and large forms.
    • Bone Meal turns a small Shelf Mushroom into a large one.
    • Breaking a large Shelf Mushroom drops two small ones.
  • Attaches to full block faces.
  • Bounces entities that land on it.
  • Can be used in Mushroom Stew, Suspicious Stew, and Rabbit Stew recipes.

Inv - Straw Bed Straw Bed Straw Bed

  • Lets players sleep through the night without changing their spawn point.
  • Three Hay Bales craft four Straw Beds.
  • Stacks up to 16.
  • A single-use bed that breaks after use, including when a player gets up before morning.
  • Breaks when used in the Nether or End, without the explosion caused by a regular Bed.
  • Found in Abandoned Camps.

  • Crafted from Wool.

  • Available in all 16 Wool colors.
  • Found in Abandoned Camps.

Biome Sprite - Dappled Forest Dappled Forest

  • An autumn forest found near cold biomes, with Poplar Trees, Coarse Dirt patches, Red Shrubs, Leaf Litter, Brown Mushrooms, Shelf Mushrooms, and occasional Spruce Trees.
    • Fallen Poplar Trees are more common than other fallen tree types.
  • Home to Rabbits, Foxes, and cold variants of farm animals.

  • Can support naturally growing Shelf Mushrooms.
  • Generates with red, orange, or yellow leaves, with the color chosen randomly during world generation.
