Cloud Update
Cloud Update introduced cloud world backups alongside newer Minecraft features. This Minecraft Education update released as 1.21.03, with its rollout dated July 23, 2024.

Cloud World Backups
OneDrive integration introduced automatic backups for eligible worlds when they are closed. The feature helps preserve classroom work and supports moving a backed-up world between supported devices.
Availability depended on platform and release stage. The initial 1.21.03 launch should not be described as enabling every platform at once: 1.21.05 later added cloud world-backup support for macOS and iOS. [1]
Account Management
The Manage Account button moved to the bottom-right of the home screen, making the account controls easier to locate alongside the updated world-management workflow.
Gameplay Features
Education incorporated Bats and Pots, Armored Paws, and Tricky Trials content. Redesigned Bats and functional Decorated Pots joined Armadillos, Wolf Armor, Wolf variants, Trial Chambers, and the newer building and combat additions.
These changes expand the available lesson worlds while preserving Education’s own platform and classroom features.
Items and Experiments
Chemistry items such as Balloons, Compounds, and Glow Sticks became available through the Creative inventory, making the chemistry toolset easier to use while preparing activities.
Release Context
The Cloud Update released as Minecraft Education 1.21.03 on July 23, 2024. Subsequent releases expanded cloud support and improved coding performance, so the later refinements are distinct from the initial launch.
