Code Builder Update

Code Builder Update integrated Code Builder more closely with the game. This Minecraft Education update released as 1.7, with its rollout dated October 24–27, 2018.

Coding and Classroom Tools

Integrated Code Builder

Code Builder became accessible from inside Minecraft, connecting supported coding tools with actions in the current world. Players could open it with the C key, reducing the steps between a lesson and testing a program.

Agent

The Agent gives programming instructions a visible result. Commands can make it move, place blocks, collect materials, and perform actions that students can observe and refine.

Agent-related command and targeting options expanded, while coordinates in the interface made it easier to describe positions and follow a coding activity.

Lessons and Interface

Library, educator-resource, and control-tip changes supported finding activities and preparing a world. The release connected the coding interface with the game rather than treating programming as an unrelated tool.

Gameplay Additions

The update also incorporated later Update Aquatic content, including Phantoms and Barrier Blocks. These additions widened the world features available for lessons alongside the headline coding changes.

Platform Releases

Minecraft Education 1.7 rolled out to iOS on October 24, macOS on October 26, and Windows on October 27, 2018. These platform dates distinguish the actual version rollout from later promotional coverage.
