Camps & Clubs

Camps & Clubs extended Minecraft Education to more learning settings. This Minecraft Education update released as 1.14.70, with its rollout dated May 26, 2021.

Platforms and Learning Access

Beyond the Classroom

Camps & Clubs expanded eligibility to supported camps, clubs, homeschool groups, and nonprofit learning organizations. The change brought the classroom toolset into more learning environments, including activities outside a traditional school timetable.

Classroom Tools

World Settings

Classroom settings placed commonly used options closer together, helping organizers prepare a world’s conditions before a group joined. World sharing and lesson-resource links connected a playable activity with its supporting material.

NPC Skins

The update added ten NPC skins, including construction-worker and teacher designs. These characters could supply instructions, dialogue, or a visible role in an activity without requiring a custom character design for every lesson.

Lessons and Organization

The emphasis was on access and preparation: finding an activity, configuring its world, and presenting it to a group. The new NPC appearances supported that work alongside existing Education tools.

Release Context

Camps & Clubs released as Minecraft Education 1.14.70 on May 26, 2021. It was a minor update in the 1.14 line, between Learn to Code and the larger GOAT Update. Its name describes the expanded audience rather than a new biome or collection of Survival mobs.
