World Generation
Oceans and Underwater Structures
Ocean biomes gained their own temperatures, vegetation, and scenery. Warm waters introduced Coral Reefs, while Kelp and Seagrass gave the seabed more life. Icebergs distinguished frozen waters.
Shipwrecks, Ocean Ruins, and Buried Treasure added destinations and loot routes. Treasure Maps connected an underwater discovery to a search on shore, and Hearts of the Sea supplied a key ingredient for Conduits.
Mobs
- Cod, Salmon, Tropical Fish, and Pufferfish became visible aquatic mobs; Buckets let players move fish into their own ponds.
Dolphins brought new ocean interactions.
Turtles laid Eggs on beaches, introducing a life cycle that could provide Scutes and Turtle Shells.
Drowned created underwater hostile encounters and a source of Tridents.- Phantoms arrived during the wider update period, adding a threat connected with sleepless nights.
Items and Exploration
Trident
Trident
Tridents can be used at close range or thrown. Their aquatic enchantments include Loyalty, Impaling, Riptide, and Channeling, offering different combat and movement uses.
Conduit and Swimming
Conduits use a Heart of the Sea and Nautilus Shells, then require an underwater Prismarine-family frame to activate. Conduit Power supports breathing, visibility, and mining underwater. A new swimming movement made exploring flooded terrain more fluid.
